PreJira (“we”, “us”) is a free, real-time workspace for backlog refinement, available at prejira.com. This policy explains what data we collect when you use PreJira, why, where it is stored, how long we keep it and the choices you have. If you have a question, contact us at support@prejira.com.

2. How we use it
- To provide PreJira: sign-in, rooms, real-time collaboration, estimation and capacity planning.
- To show room members who is in the room and who is online.
- To push epics and stories to your Jira Cloud site when your room's owner/admin asks us to.
- To understand overall usage, fix errors and improve performance.
- To read and respond to feedback.
We do not sell your data, show advertising or use your data to build advertising profiles.
3. Who can see your data
- Members of your rooms can see the room's content and the member list (names, roles, countries, skills, capacity). Member IDs are only shown to the room's owner and admins.
- PreJira administrators can see aggregate usage numbers and the feedback sent to us.
- Service providers who process data on our behalf (see section 5).
- Authorities, only if required by law.
4. Jira Cloud integration (optional)
A room's owner or admin can connect the room to their own Jira Cloud site using Atlassian's OAuth 2.0 consent.
PreJira requests these permissions: read:jira-work, write:jira-work,
read:jira-user and offline_access.
- What we send to Jira: epic names and descriptions, and story titles, descriptions, story points, a story-type label and the epic link. We send no member names, capacity data or votes.
- What we read from Jira: the list of projects (so you can choose a target) and the keys of the issues we create.
- What we store: the OAuth tokens and Jira site details listed above. They are stored server-side and are never sent to any browser. We do not store Atlassian account IDs or Jira user profiles.
- Disconnecting: “Disconnect” in Room Settings → Jira deletes the stored tokens and site details from PreJira. You can also revoke PreJira's access at any time in your Atlassian account under Connected apps.
5. Where data is stored and service providers
PreJira runs on Google Firebase (Google LLC). Data is stored in Cloud Firestore in the United States (multi-region) and processed by Cloud Functions in the United States (us-central1). Our service providers are:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud: hosting, authentication, database, server functions, Analytics and Performance Monitoring.
- Google: “Sign in with Google”, if you choose it.
- Atlassian: only if your room connects Jira Cloud.
If you use PreJira from outside the United States, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States.
6. How long we keep data
- Rooms are archived automatically after 180 days without activity, moved to trash 180 days after that, and permanently deleted, with all their content, 30 days later. Room owners can change these periods.
- Sprints are archived automatically about 18 months after they end.
- Jira tokens are kept until the room is disconnected from Jira or deleted.
- Account data and feedback are kept until you ask us to delete them.
- Usage statistics we keep are aggregate counts that do not identify you.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access or correct: you can change your name and preferences in your profile. Room owners/admins can edit member details.
- Delete your account: email support@prejira.com from the address you sign in with. We will delete your account and remove you from your rooms within 30 days. Content you added to shared rooms (for example stories) may remain for the other members.
- Leave a room at any time from the room menu.
- Revoke Jira access as described in section 4.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as data portability or objecting to processing. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Browser storage
PreJira stores your language and theme preference in your browser's local storage. Firebase uses browser storage to keep you signed in and, through Google Analytics for Firebase, to measure usage. We use no advertising cookies.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by Google Cloud. Access is restricted by database security rules, so that only members of a room can read it. Jira tokens can only be read by our server functions. To report a security issue, contact security@prejira.com.
10. Children
PreJira is a tool for work teams and is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes we will also notify users in the app.
